  ELF 2006

ELF 2006's publication was a journal titled Dau Vosa.  Vosa is a Fijian phrase that is used in various contexts.  When applied to women, it often carries a negative connation as it is used to admonish and ridicule a woman who is alleged to have spoken out of line.  When applied to men however, the same term is uttered in admiration and respect for one who is considered to have contributed constructively to the issue at hand.  The publication was deliberately named Dau Vosa to reclaim the phrase, and to acknowledge that the women of Fiji can and must speak so that issues we raise will be heard and our contributions to society recognized.
