Legal Services
Part of
our day to day service at FWRM is the Client Referral Support (CRS) where
we provide legal information to women. This free service is offered at FWRM
during office hours between 9am-5pm. There is no need to make an
appointment, and women can simply come in and speak with one of our English,
Fijian, or Hindi speaking Human Rights Training Officers.
This
service enables women to access legal information regarding their rights or the
laws that affect them. Privacy is respected, and any information given to
us will remain confidential.
Those
who need further assistance are then either referred to the relevant
institution/ organization or to the Legal Clinic should they wish to
obtain legal advice or request to discuss their case with a
lawyer.
This
Clinic is a collaboration between the Movement and the Fiji Young Lawyers
Association (FYLA). It is conducted on Wednesdays on a fortnightly basis
at the FWRM office and is facilitated by the FYLA. This service is also
free.
